You may be eligible to participate in a study to investigate the role of neutrophil proteases as global regulators of IL-1 family cytokine activity in skin disorders.
NEUTROPRO Study
The NEUTROPRO study is a research study being carried out by Professor Irvine (Dermatology – St James Hospital) and Professor Martin (Genetics – Trinity College Dublin) to investigate markers of inflammation in the skin disorders psoriasis, eczema and ichthyosis.
How to get involved
The researchers are asking for participants to attend St James Hospital, Dublin for a 15-minute appointment, where a small skin sample will be taken from your arm, using a painless technique called ‘tape stripping’. This is like a small disc of sellotape that will peel off a tiny layer of skin and then experiments will be done on the skin to hopefully develop new treatments for these diseases in the future!
